중국 젱딩의 지아 지구오 율리우스 주교가 10개월여 감옥살이 끝에 석방되었다.
 작년 11월에 체포된 지아 주교는 10개월간 학습을 받았고 애국가톨릭협회의 권위를 받아 드리라는 압력을 받아 왔다.
 지아 주교는 3년도 못 되는 기간에 8번이나 구속되었으며, 합쳐서 20년간 감옥살이를 한 것이다. (2006. 9. 21. 가톨릭세계뉴스)
 
 CHINESE BISHOP RELEASED FROM PRISON
 Sep. 26 (CWNews.com) - Bishop Julius Jia Zhiguo of China's Zhengding diocese has been freed after more than 10 months in prison, the AsiaNews service reports.
 
 Bishop Jia, who was arrested last November, was subjected to 10 months of "study sessions" and pressured to accept the authority of the Catholic Patriotic Association, local Church sources say. Since his release this week he has been able to meet freely with clergy of the underground Church.
 
 Bishop Jia, whose November arrest was the 8th time he had been taken into custody in less than three years, has now spent 20 years in prison. He is one of the most visible Catholic leaders in the Hebei province, outside Beijing, where the Catholic presence is active, and authorities have made frequent efforts to curtail the activities of the underground Church.
